‘Dexter’ Returns to Netflix

After a two year hiatus, Showtime's hit drama finds a second home on October 31.

After a two year hiatus, Showtime’s hit drama “Dexter” is returning to Netflix for instant streaming on October 31. Unfortunately, only the first four of eight seasons will be available for streaming with seasons five through eight to appear on the streaming service on Jan. 1, 2014. This comes after a renegotiated agreement with CBS allowing for the Dexter’s return.

Dexter is a serialized drama starring actor Michael C. Hall who plays the character of Dexter Morgan, a forensic investigator by day and a serial killer (with a code) by night. The show has a huge fanbase having nearly 14 million likes on its Facebook page and setting record viewership for the show during its finale bringing in 2.3 million views.

SOME WOULD SAY THE LATTER HALF OF THE SERIES ISN’T NEEDED

The series, while a smash hit, has had mixed reviews from even its most loyal fans. There are rumors that a spinoff series is in the works, but no hard facts have been confirmed. With Dexter returning to Netflix, it has the potential create new fans and further build the show as a recognizable brand for a future project.
