‘SimCity’ Players Will be Able to Play Offline

Soon.

“SimCity” players will finally be able to play the city-creating simulation offline soon.

When it launched back in March of 2013, it did so with major server issues. Due to EA’s DRM policy, this meant players went extended periods of time not being able to play their newly purchased game. Hopefully this long overdue ability to play offline makes for a richer experience.

“our priority is to make sure that it’s as polished as possible before we release it.”

“Yes, Offline is coming as a free download with Update 10 to all SimCity players. When we launch it, all of your previously downloaded content will be available to you anytime, anywhere, without the need for an internet connection.” says Patrick Buechner, GM Manager of the Maxis Emeryville studio. No solid release date has been stated, but Buechner says, “our priority is to make sure that it’s as polished as possible before we release it.”
