HBO Go is Coming to PlayStation

No Vita love.

PlayStation users will finally have access to HBO Go soon. It was announced that it would first come to PlayStation 3, with an app for the PlayStation 4 to soon follow.

HBO Go gives users access to every HBO original series both current and past. Users also have access to many movies and documentaries as well. To access this content, one must be a HBO subscriber via cable service, satellite or telco TV provider.

The content heavy service will join the likes of already well established apps on both Sony’s past and current consoles. Apps such as Netflix, Hulu Plus, YouTube and Amazon Prime Instant Video have been streaming video since as early as 2009.

NO WORD ON WHEN THE APP FOR XBOX ONE WILL ARRIVE.

The latest hardware that has had the opportunity to stream HBO’s fortified content is Google’s Chromecast. Although it depends on a mobile device, it’s still a way for Android users to get the content onto their televisions. After the app hits both of Sony’s home consoles, the service will span across a total of 14 different platforms: PCs, Macs, iPhone, iPad, Android smartphones and tablets, Apple TV, Roku, Google Chromecast, Xbox 360, Amazon Kindle Fire, Samsung SmartTVs, PS3 and PS4. There is still no word on when the app for the Xbox One will arrive.
