Sony Announces ‘Uncharted 4’ at E3 2014 Press Conference

“One last time”

“Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” was revealed today during Sony’s E3 2014 press conference.

The game was first revealed one day before the PS4 launched at an event. At that time there was no official name, but rather just a teaser and the title “Uncharted.” This was Sony’s “one more thing” surprise, tail ending their E3 show today.

Nolan North returns as the voice of Nathan Drake who is seen in the trailer. Who is heard but not seen is actor Richard McGonagle who plays Sully. “One last time” is the line uttered by the two as Drake ventures into a luscious green jungle reminiscent of the first game “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune,” released back in 2007. We just get a visual of Drake and no other characters like Elena or Chloe.

A couple things has happened behind the scenes at Naughty Dog that has caused shake-ups. First we heard of lead writer Amy Hennig leaving, who has been writing for Naughty Dog since the “Jak and Daxter” era and has since moved to Visceral to work on the next “Star Wars” game. Also departed since the announcement is former game director Justin Richmond. And that voice you hear in the teaser belongs to Todd Stashwick who was let go by Naughty Dog. Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley are now leading the project and this is the result.

After the storm passed, it brought fans to this moment of the first look at the cinematics of the game. Expect “Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End” to release in 2015.
