‘SNL’ Continues to Lose Its Cast
No new friends.
Yesterday, freshmen cast member Brooks Wheelan tweeted that he was fired from Saturday Night Live. Today, Variety is reporting that he isn’t the only cast member that won’t be showing up on the long running variety show this Fall. Noël Wells and John Milhiser are two other freshman cast members that won’t be returning due to their contracts not being renewed. Under different conditions, five-year cast member Nasim Pedrad won’t return seeing as she is co-starring in the new FOX comedy series Mulaney, produced SNL EP Lorne Michael.
Had a blast and loved every second of it. I’m totally honored to be able to make this next joke… FIRED FROM NEW YORK IT’S SATURDAY NIGHT!

The 2013-2014 season was definitely a transition season for the show, previously losing big names like Jason Sudeikis, Bill Hader, and Fred Armisen the season before and (nearly) 13 year veteran Seth Meyers mid-season. Although Wells, Milhiser, and Wheeland are gone, other newcomers such as Sasheer Zamata, Kyle Mooney, Beck Bennett, Mike O’Brien, and Colin Jost remain mainstays and most likely will sustain that status.
One question still remains unanswered. Who will play Jon Cryer?
Do you think Noël Wells and John Milhiser deserved to be cut? Will you miss Nasim Pedrad’s Kim Kardashian? Let us know in the comments below.
