‘Toy Story 4’ Announced, Set for June of 2017
The toys are back in town.
Toy Story 4 was announced earlier today by Bob Iger, the chief of Walt Disney Co., while he was discussing the company’s fourth quarter and its fiscal year results to Wall Street analysts.
John Lasseter, chief creative officer at Pixar, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and DisneyToon Studios, is set to return to the director’s chair. Lasseter directed the first Toy Story, as well as Cars, Cars 2, and is attached to direct Cars 3 as well. The last movie in the franchise, Toy Story 3 was directed by Lee Unkrich and made $1.1 billion worldwide.
Very few details are known at this time about the newly announced movie, other than Lasseter’s involvement. The movie is set to release in June of 2017.
Does ‘Toy Story’ need another movie? Is this nothing more than a cash grab, or are you excited to see where this takes the franchise? Let us know in the comments below.
