Geek Speak #5: Sequel No. 1886

We talk about the strange choice to make “Toy Story 4” a romantic comedy, and complain about over sequelization.

Ready At Dawn

SEQUELS, REBOOTS AND REMASTERING

Welcome to the fifth episode of Geek Speak! This week we talk about how annoying it is that everything is setting up a future sequel. Also, we throw out some ideas for the new Spider-Man movies that can bring back the old actors.

The topics we cover this week are:

  • Toy Story 4 as a romantic comedy.
  • Rock Band 4
  • Spider-Man multiverse idea
  • The Order: 1886’s problems and what it means about AAA games
  • Our weekly segment where we decide who would win in a randomly selected scenario between two randomly selected characters from different geek worlds, shortened as: ‘WhoDaWin.’ This week features Kirby, Ash Ketchum and Solid Snake.

And that’s it for this week! Geek Speak will be a weekly show posted each Saturday. See you next week!

Is setting up for a sequel a good thing? What do you think about a movie involving the many different Spidermen? Are QTEs a bad thing? Let us know in the comments below or email us at geekspeak@younerded.com.
