‘No Man’s Sky’ Delayed to August 9, Creator Sent Death Threats
After some solid rumors, No Man’s Sky was delayed this week by seven weeks, with the new release date set for Tuesday, August 9, 2016.
Creator Sean Murray took to the PlayStation Blog to announce the delay, saying that the game had been delayed to “give some key moments some extra polish.” Despite the delay, Murray claims that development is going very well and that he and the rest of Hello Games are very excited for the release. After some somewhat understandable fan backlash, Murray took to Twitter to further apologize to fans, claiming that due to “legal and external reasons” he could not announce the delay sooner.
Unfortunately, this did not stop some vocal fans from sending Murray death threats, which Murray later acknowledged on Twitter.
No Man’s Sky is one of the most anticipated games of the year, and while it is understandable that people are upset over the delay, death threats seem to going a bit over board.
